Astrocartography Experiences with Mars, Jupiter and Saturn lines

Sharing some Astrocartography insights on my recent trip to Poland

I recently took a trip to Poland, where I visited and stayed in 3 cities, and they each brought me closer to a different astrocartography planetary lines – namely: Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. I have had experiences of living on my Mars and Saturn lines before, and I have activated several locations around world remotely with Jupiter but this was my first time getting close to my Jupiter line in person. I found it interesting that this week (and early next week) these planets will meet in the sky in one way or another. In the words of Aliza Kelly, TANC – There Are No Coincidences. I guess I was meant to travel here to set me up for further insights during these collective transits.

Success! You're on the list.

Sometimes we need a bit of fire to ignite our passions, sometimes that fire becomes too hot too handle.

First day on my Mars line

I have a love hate relationship with Mars. As an Aries Rising, Mars is my chart ruler. But Mars in my natal chart is in detriment (Libra) and conjunct Saturn in my 6th house which is… tricky. It does have some help/ support from other planets which I am grateful for.

Aries Rising are often seen to be brave, and inspire others with their ability to take action… However my own reflection on Mars in my natal chart is that my assertive nature is a bit like a rusty motor, it takes a while to get it started and I struggle with being consistent.

I have travelled and lived on a few of my Mars lines, and have had some interesting (and exciting!) experiences on my Mars lines so I knew going in to this trip what to expect from Mars. For this part of the trip I was travelling alone which is important info to consider too – as travelling with other people means you need to consider the same energy for them too. Mars in Astrocartography circles will largely depend on the astrologers view on Mars – you may hear some say that Mars is aggressive, forceful, violent even. Others may say travelling to a Mars line allows you to ignite your passion, harness your drive, motivate you. However the real key to knowing how a Mars line will activate for you, is knowing that it really all depends on your natal chart and how your Natal Mars works for you personally. I think also its worth mentioning that the relationships we have with others, and how you are able to assert yourself (whether that comes naturally or is a challenge for you), and ways in which you deal with confrontation from others can also play a role in your experience of a Mars line.

For this particular trip, Mars is the energy I started with and ended with. The benefit of being an astrologer, and having experienced this line before, I was able to plan my trip with an awareness of this energy so that I could navigate it a little easier. I used this Mars energy as a way to channel my energy, getting excited for solo travel, and to energise myself. In the end I may have over energised myself, I managed to get a lot in and found myself a little exhausted coming home. However when I look at my current transits, I had my progressed moon exactly conjunct my Natal Mars. So I tried to use this energy to keep myself motivated and inspired whilst being mindful that my emotional energy needed additional time to ground this excitement too.

Jupiter doesn’t always mean ‘luck’ sometimes it refers to learning.

The next part of my trip was to meet up with a friend on my Jupiter line. Or rather in between my Saturn and Jupiter lines, so Warsaw actually is the midpoint of these two energies for me. This was the whole reason for the trip, we planned to meet up and see Taylor Swift. Something I accredit Saturn’s help for securing the tickets in the first place!

For personal context, Jupiter in my own chart sits in Scorpio in my 7th house, it squares my Sun and trines my Moon. So by all accounts, Jupiter should be a line that gives me great things, especially in my close relationships. However overall, Jupiter is not a big player in my natal chart, for me, Saturn is my most influential planet. And this is why its crucial to understand your natal chart before diving into your ACG, because for me, it was in working on the relationship between Jupiter and Saturn that has helped me tremendously.

Jupiter is one of the most asked about astrocartography line, everyone wants to know where to find luck, abundance, good fortune – but the thing is Jupiter often magnifies things, so if you have challenging aspects to your natal Jupiter, these challenges can magnify when you travel to your Jupiter line. Likewise, if your Jupiter sits well in your chart, and there is ease and support there – over indulgence and excess can arise too. Just like all the planets, there are high and low vibrations to the energy and how it will express with you. Which is why I always say its best to get a professional reading so we can explore your chart in detail before explaining how this energy may be experienced by you personally.

My trip to Warsaw was quick but we fitted in a lot of activities, I tried to be mindful that Jupiter loves excess and rather focussed that on the learning, researching, and exploring parts. I was mindful not too drink too much, and since I was on a tight budget, I actually didn’t want too buy too many things either as Jupiter has a tendency to live in the moment and get a little carried away! I think with my natal Jupiter in Scorpio allows me to grow and transform when I am learning and deep diving into expanding my knowledge. One thing on my travel to-do list was visiting the statue of Nicolaus Copernicus who was the astronomer and mathematician who put forward the idea that the sun was at the center of our solar system and that the planets revolved around the sun. What a beautiful discovery for an astrologer like me!

I mentioned that even thought Jupiter was the line I activated in Warsaw, it was actually Saturn that helped me. Why’s that?

Visit to the Salt Mines on my Saturn line

The reason I think Saturn was the reason I was able to go on this trip is because I used structure, effort, hard work, and determination to make this trip happen. I didn’t just magically see things go my way, there was no ease in securing this trip. I unfortunately did not win the lotto, so I had to work extra hard and save for this trip for more than a year. Sacrifices were made. There was fear that came up, a bit of frustration and friction too – but ultimately, Saturn saw the effort I put in and gave me a sweet reward of this trip actually going forward. It took some careful planning and considerations for the energies I was going to be working with on this trip, but I am really grateful and happy for the experiences I received. It wasn’t all perfect, but equally I wasn’t dogmatic with my approach to this trip.

I was born on my Saturn DC line, this is something that is reflective in my own natal chart – I have Saturn conjunct my DC. Saturn and the lessons Saturn has taught me through my life have been profound and part of my journey. I think growing up on my Saturn line was challenging, and when I got older, I couldn’t wait to leave. However as I have gotten older still, and with time away from home, I think I can see the benefits Saturn has given me too. This is not to say that everyone will have the same experience of Saturn though, and I don’t always recommend visiting or relocating to a Saturn line without looking at a persons chart. But Saturn for me, gives me structure, it allows me to be patient, to work hard. Now none of that sounds particularly exciting for a holiday trip, but I did decide to travel to Krakow which was very close to my Saturn line. I did this part of the trip alone, and specifically planned it after Jupiter as a way to ground my energy and balance me out. With careful planning, I was able to fit in time to visit the The Wieliczka Salt Mines which is just outside of Krakow – something I highly recommend travellers visit. Getting to touch the Salt mine walls, travel deep in the mines, learn about the history and work of the mine as well as ending off in graduation tower which was very healing and restorative. Saturn lines can help with health in some ways, and for me having Saturn in my 6th house, this experience of salt mines, and water was particularly helpful to stabilise my emotions and feelings.

So that was my experience of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn lines. The last thing I wanted to add about Astrocartography and activating planetary lines. There are 3 parts to any trip – first is when you are planning where you want to go. Looking at locations, researching lines, plotting your route etc. Second is when you actually arrive at the location and you get to physically be present in the energy, noting how you feel and what comes up for you. The third part is when you return home, and integrate this learning. Its a time where you can reflect on your experience but now also you have the ability to use the past as a way to remote activate those locations without actually being there physically any more. Meaning that the benefits of knowing what planetary line you are working with, how you personally experienced it, and what you plan to do to keep that channel of communication open really makes the experience long lasting. Of course there are some trips we would rather like to forget, and some where we learn a lot and the lessons are worth keeping. I plan to use the upcoming transits with Saturn square Jupiter to help integrate the experience I recently had on these lines.
