Expat Life

Thinking about moving countries? Living overseas? Moving to Ireland?

In 2016, we took a giant leap of faith and moved from South Africa to Ireland. Before The Expat Astrologer, the blog was called ‘This is Us Living‘. I blogged about our experience moving countries and tips/tricks to live in a foreign country. Along the way I started learning and exploring more about Astrogeography – suddenly all the places I had previously lived and travelled to, started to make sense! I have since stopped blogging about expat life as frequently as I was, but I realise that a lot of the older content is still valuable information and that it might be helpful to others who are considering to make this move. Whilst I do believe Astrogeography and understanding the astrology lines you are living on is vital and beneficial information to know, regardless of this fact, people still make the serious decision to move countries for various reasons. Expat life is a heavy transition to make, I hope this information will be of value to you.

Visiting Kinvara in Ireland and living in a tiny house. Our first time staying on the west coast of Ireland, and our first Airbnb! Since we rented a car specifically for this trip, we thought it would be the best time to explore a smaller town, and really get a feel for Irish countryside. Kinvara did not disappoint.

We have lived in Dublin for over a year now and while the move had it's challenges, we have come to love our new adopted home. Dublin and Ireland in general should be a place that everyone should visit. And that is not for the pubs and the craic - but more for the place that it is and the people. There are many reasons why I think Dublin is a great place to live, but I thought these six reasons best summarise this little city that has a very big heart.

Here is a comprehensive list of what to expect when you visit the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway in one day. I know bus tours go against most avid travel bloggers code of authentic tourist travel, but we don't yet own a car, and so it makes it a bit of a challenge to get to these places. It's easy enough to get from Dublin to Galway on a bus, but getting out in the country and having the flexibility to stop at the various sight-seeing spots is not so feasible when you are using public transport alone. What is most important is choosing the right bus tour to take.
